As a young girl, Annette Himstedt was fascinated with the beauty of her world, and with dolls in particular. She would play with them for hours on end, dressing them in clothing she had made herself. At the age of 18, Annette began studying art and design in Hanover and later in Hamburg. After receiving her degree, she found a job at Dolly Moden magazine as a fashion designer for dolls. Her designs were very well received by the public.
In the 1960s, Annette Himstedt began designing and creating her own dolls with her background in fashion design. In 1974 she founded her first company, Fini, producing realistic-looking porcelain dolls. After running Fini for six years, she started Himstedt Porzellanpuppen GmbH, where she produced her first vinyl doll in 1981. The company was renamed Annette Himstedt Puppen GmbH in 1994. Since then, Annette Himstedt has created dozens of unique and one-of-a-kind dolls with special attention to detail and realism.
In 1975 Annette decided to start sewing dolls on her own. The first doll she created was called Helena, and it was a great success. After this success more dolls were created; over the years more than 40 different dolls have been produced!
Annette's dolls are unique because they are not mass-produced by machine; instead each one is lovingly handmade by hand. Annette Himstedt is a German doll manufacturer whose dolls are prized by collectors around the world. Each doll is handmade using the finest materials available. Annette Himstedt dolls are prized for their beauty, quality and craftsmanship.
Annette Himstedt dolls range in price from $50 to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on quality and rarity; the most expensive can reach $12,000 or more. One factor that makes it difficult to determine a price range is that some eBay sellers set unreasonably high prices for these dolls.
Because of the fragile nature of these collectible dolls, you may be able to find Annette Himstedt dolls on the secondary market. These are always a risk because sellers may not always accurately represent their condition. Always ask for pictures of any damage and especially if they have any cracks or other flaws. If possible, look at the doll in person before you purchase it.
If you are looking for a specific Annette Himstedt doll model, you can check out online marketplaces such as eBay or Etsy. Other options include private dealers and collector groups that specialize in Annette Himstedt dolls.
One important thing to look for when buying a doll is its authenticity. All of these dolls are marked with a unique serial number on their back, which authenticates them as being produced by the company. Some dolls also came with a certificate of authenticity, so be sure to ask about this as well.
Annette Himstedt dolls are highly collectible, but it can be difficult to know if you are getting a real Annette Himstedt doll or a knockoff. The only way to be sure is to examine your doll carefully.
